Comprehensive Surgical Care for Your Pet
Our services at our locally owned clinic range from routine spay and neuter operations to more complex veterinary surgeries, all performed with the highest standard of care. We believe in making your pet's surgical experience as stress-free and comfortable as possible. That's why we focus on excellent pain control and management before, during, and after your pet's procedure.
Spay and Neuter: A Key to Your Pet's Health
Spaying and neutering are among the most common and important surgical procedures for pets. Not only do these procedures help control the pet population, but they also offer numerous health benefits, including reducing the risk of certain cancers and diseases in dogs and cats. Choosing to spay or neuter your pet can give them a longer, healthier life.

Our Surgery Policies
At PetMed of Key West Veterinary Clinic, we have surgical policies in place to ensure every procedure runs smoothly. For dogs and cats, please withhold food after 10 p.m. the night before and offer only minimal water the morning of surgery. Pocket pets should not be fasted. Drop-off is between 8:00 and 8:20 a.m., with discharge typically after 2 p.m. the same day. During drop-off, a technician will answer your questions, review and obtain the surgical consent form, and provide your pricing estimate. All estimates are all-inclusive, covering the exam, anesthesia, fluids, pain management, monitoring, e-collar, and recovery. However, complications or emergencies are not included. A deposit is required for advanced or non-routine surgeries, based on the lower end of the estimate.
Please note that we do not provide 24-hour staffed care. If overnight monitoring is needed, we will refer your pet to a 24-hour emergency facility such as VCA Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center in Middleton, WI, Madison Veterinary Specialists in Madison, WI, UW Veterinary Care in Madison, or Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA.
