Dr. Mackenzie Hellert
Dr. Hellert grew up on the family farm in Dubuque, Iowa, and graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Hellert is licensed in 9 states and has extensive experience in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, ER, and general practice. She and her husband, Brett, live on the family farm catering to 2 very spoiled dogs: Martin and Thaddeus, and some equally spoiled horses.
In her spare time, Dr. Hellert enjoys helping her family with their flock of Jacob sheep, llamas, chickens, and a Giant Flemish rabbit named Adeli. Dr. Hellert also loves gardening, riding and driving her horses, and traveling. She has worked and played from Alaska to Arizona and Florida and a bunch of places in between!
Dr. Naomi Tigges
Dr. Tigges was born and raised on the Dubuque area. She graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Tigges joined our team in 2022 and we are delighted to have her working with the PetMed team! Dr. Tigges is the mom of two wonderful human children, Ella and Clark, as well as several cats and 2 guinea pigs.
Dr. Tigges specializes in chronic medical conditions and enjoys the personal side of veterinary medicine – getting to know our clients as well as our patients!
Our Staff
Molly Melssen
Molly joined the PetMed team as a veterinarian technician in November 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology in December 2016. She has been working in the animal care field since her graduation. She has 3 cats (Nugget, Stormy, and Chimmy) and 4 dogs (Pancake, Miska, Wilhemina, and Indiana). In her free time, she enjoys spending time hiking with her husband and dogs, running, running agility with her corgi Wilhelmina, and horseback riding.
Ciara Fangman
Ciara joined the PetMed team as a veterinarian technician in June 2021. Ciara and her husband have a senior cat named Lucy and a hamster named Gus. She enjoys reading, binge-watching TV shows (who doesn’t right?), and is a connoisseur of coffee.
